.270 (or equivalent in mm) / 2700 joules
Did you know?
Warthogs have poor eyesight. Unfortunately, due to the drought in 2019, game populations, especially warthogs, have declined sharply.
Indigenous to Namibia
Historical habitat range in the Khomas highlands & northern regions of the country
- Male warthogs can be easily recognized by the four “warts”, females only have two “warts”
- These “warts” are “protective bumps”, not actual warts
- Male warthogs have very pronounced, banana-shaped arms
- Very old “Past Prime” warthogs are recognized by the facial warts, which hang down a bit
- The skin is cracked, gray and very leathery
- Due to the jet secretion under the eyes, black areas can be seen there in mature boars

- They are often found at the water
- They are common in Hardap, Khomas, Erongo, Kunene, Otjozondjupa and Kavango areas in Namibia
- They are perfectly adapted to savannah and bush areas as well as shrub & grasslands
- At midday the boars hide from the sun
- The best chance to hunt a mature Warthog is by stalking, as warthogs like to come to the water. Blind hunting in a hide is also possible, but more difficult due to the high pastures in the rainy season
